Dear Franklin students and families,

Following are some important Career Related Learning Experiences (CRLEs) that are open to all students and accepting applications. Stop by the College & Career Center (room B6) to register or pick up an application from me. But hurry up…space is limited!

Remember: Participating in any of these events will help you meet the Oregon graduation requirement for career exploration…Yes, it is a graduation requirement! 

MANUFACTURING SHOWCASE DAY

Attention sophomores, juniors and seniors: Would you like to spend a day learning about many occupations related to ADVANCED MANUFACTURING? Clackamas Community College is hosting the MANUFACTURING CAREER DAY, just for you!! Featured occupations include: Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, CNC Programming, Welding, CAD Design and more. Registration is open, but space is limited!!! Applications are available in the College and Career Center (room B6) and with Mr. Ryan in the Metal Shop (room A 28)

PACE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM:

If you are looking for Internships opportunities, the PACE Mentorship Program is for you! It is a FREE after-school program that gives you the opportunity to work with plumbers, sheet metal workers, carpenters and electricians to learn about good paying jobs in the trades. Benefits: explore career fields within the industry, collaborate with a team of mentors and students from other schools, gain experience and learn new skills.

OPEN TO FRESHMEN+ SOPHOMORES + JUNIORS + SENIORS

Come to room B6 to pick up and submit your application TODAY. Registration closes next week.

PHYSICIAN CAREER HIGHLIGHT

Providence Health & Services will open its doors to high school students again next month! This time they will be hosting a Physician Career Highlight event at Portland St. Vincent Medical Center on January 5^th to provide students the opportunity to explore the Physicians career. Come to enjoy an exciting look at this industry as well as hands on activities! Registration is open but space is limited, so please register early. Applications are available in room B 6.

NIKE CAREER DAY

NIKE CAREER DAY is back!!! Attention students interested in learn about the world’s most successful sport apparel company. NIKE will be hosting a Career Day next month. Students will tour the Nike campus and explore the creative development process with the Nike’s Design Team. Featured careers include:  Marketing, Design, and Product Development. Do you want to register? Come to the College and Career Center.
