Career 101

For the next few class periods, we will be working on the Career Pathways Project

1. Go through 16 Career Clusters Slideshow, filling out your

Career Pathways Lesson 1 as you go.

2. Return to Naviance and Oregon CIS and complete career surveys if you have not done so already: (not sure - log in and check!)
1. Strengths Explorer (Naviance)
2. Interest Profiler (CIS)

a.To log in to Franklin Naviance:  Your user name is the first letter of your first name and then your last name.  Your password is your ID number.  Check out the results from the ‘Strengths Explorer Survey.’

b.Go to Oregon CIS.  You should have already created an account and completed the ‘Interest Profiler.’  Check out those results again.

3.Start note-taking on your careers using Career Pathways Lesson 2. Use Career Pathways Lesson 3 help you find the information.

4. Research Time:

Use Naviance, Oregon CIS, and Google (apply strategic search skills from Digital Citizenship Lessons #5 and #7).

 Some ideas include:

• Side-by-side comparison for all information?
• Start with presenting Career #1, then Career #2, and end with a reflection on best fit?
• Side-by-Side Comparison with Pros and Cons?  

5.Using your completed research, create a slide show using Google Drive.  

To create your slide, make sure you look over Career Pathways Lesson 4 so you know how to create your slide show.

6. Practice your presentation

7. Give presentation of slide show to the class by Friday!
