TED Talk; 4 Year Plan - Day 3
Reminder: Career Expo on Wed. 2/24
Today: Continue work on Four Year Plan...
But first a TED Talk: Emilie Wapnick "Why Some of Us Don't Have One True Calling" (12:26)
Step 1 - Complete 'Planner: Preparing My 4Year Action Plan'
Step 2 - Complete 'My Four Year Action Plan' worksheet; this is what you should bring to Forecasting Night next week!
Step 3 - The overall assignment for this section is:
Students will create their Four Year Plan as a Google Doc and create a table like the one in the packet.
Tips for students:
- Think about your post-secondary plans and what skills and knowledge you need. For example:
- You want to be an Engineer…4 years of math!
- You want to be a welder….have you taken advanced metals or the prerequisites to get to Advanced metals?
- Are you considering University? Please consider 4 years of Math and Science and challenging yourself with dual credit or AP classes.
- When forecasting remember to find balance! Challenge yourself but do not overwhelm yourself! Choose a schedule that is a good fit for you and your many interests.
- Think about your semester 1 grades. Any D’s or F’s? Meet with your counselor to talk about how these grade may or may not impact your post-secondary options.
Four Year Plan
