Comparing Naviance and Oregon CIS
Take some time to lead students through a comparison activity of Naviance and Oregon CIS.
- Have students work in pairs to compare the two websites on the following categories: career exploration, college/education exploration, and personal information and planning.
- In each pair, one student should log into Naviance and the other student should log into Oregon CIS. This should make the comparison activity easier.
- Students can record their notes/ideas on this handout: Comparing Naviance and Oregon CIS
- After students finish comparing digital resources, debrief their findings in a whole class discussion.
Let students know that this is just the beginning of their work on Naviance and Oregon CIS in CCE. They will be using these digital resources to research interests, careers, and colleges. This exploration and comparison will help them choose the best digital resources and tools to use in their future CCE research projects and portfolio pieces.
